Hi,
Loving the podcast – easily the best I’ve found for the genre. One comment about identifying the tracks though. Since I listen by podcast and often in a piecemeal fashion, I find it tricky to work backwards from your spoken sections to find out who a particular track was. Two suggestions:
1) In the table for each show on MusicInWidescreen.com, could you add a column for the start time within the podcast for each track? Then we could use that along with the elapsed time you already have to work out which track was playing at any instant.
2) There used to be another prog podcast (now defunct) and they had a way of displaying the album cover on the iPod/iPhone as each track was playing (i.e. it would change as each new track played). Not sure how they achieved that…
Thanks!
Thanks for the Kudos. In the next episode we added air time column so you can subtract 18:00 from that to get song time. Next week I might create a macro to change that to subtract the 18 hours on our end.
I think that was a video podcast were ours in only audio. I will think about that for the future though could be very high maintenance thing though.
Do you remember the podcast?
Thanks for the air time update – sounds perfect! The other podcast was “Prog Rock Block”. I thought they had packed up because the podcast stopped updating on iTunes but I just googled them and seems their webapge is still active with new episodes. They had a bias towards the “standard” bands/tracks though (and often a bit heavy for my tases). My listening had stagnated a bit so that’s why I love that you feature new albums and have already opened my eyes to some great new (to me) bands.
Cheers!
Ok thanks for the info. You may not like the next episode, its a bit harder with Vanden Plas featured. Care to mention any bands that I introduced you too? That is our mission statement really so that is great to hear.
Well, that’s the thing… Manning an Aquaplanage are 2 that stick in my mind but apart from that, I know I’ve heard some great music and I also have some band names in my head but I haven’t married the 2 up yet!
Thanks for the reply, this is what it is all about.
